Meryl’s School of Cooking is based in Kloof in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa, and was established in 2001. 

Meryl’s stylish kitchen is set in a tranquil environment that allows you to feel relaxed and creative while benefiting from the latest culinary equipment.


Despite her extensive training and experience, Meryl has the gift of making every client feel like a master chef within minutes of entering her fresh, clean kitchen. By the end of the course, you have created something you would never have dreamed possible – a delicious and beautifully presented meal while having fun.


Meryl trained as a chef in South Africa and then went on to study at Leith’s School of Food and Wine in London. After qualifying there, she worked in various places in Great Britain, including a shooting lodge in Scotland. Meryl later worked at MalaMala Game Reserve and Hartford Country House, both five-star resorts in South Africa, before opening Meryl’s School of Cooking. Her cooking school allows her to impart her extensive knowledge while sharing in her clients’ sense of achievement at what they have created.
