Meryl’s School of Cooking, which is based in Kloof in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa was established in 2001.
Meryl offers courses for groups of couples, friends, Book clubs, wine clubs, kitchen tea parties, birthday parties and any special occasion where socialising and eating is a prerequisite. Themes such as stress free dinner party, thirty minute meals, healthy cooking, vegetarian, fun Italian, working with pastry, and more are available to choose from, for these courses.
She also offers Fun corporate team building courses for groups of up to 24 people.
Domestic Workers courses run throughout the year, along with kids extra-mural and holiday cooking courses, teens cooking courses, survival courses for school leavers and cooking kids cooking parties.
Meryl’s stylish kitchen is set in a tranquil environment that allows you to feel relaxed and creative, while benefiting from the latest culinary equipment.
Despite her extensive training and experience, Meryl has the gift of making every client feel like a master chef within minutes of entering her fresh, clean kitchen. By the end of the course, you have created something you would never have dreamed possible – a delicious and beautifully presented meal, while having fun.
Meryl trained as a chef in South Africa and then went on to study at Leith’s School of Food and Wine in London. After qualifying there, she worked in various places in Great Britain, including a shooting lodge in Scotland. Meryl later worked at MalaMala Game Reserve and Hartford Country House, both five star resorts in South Africa, before opening Meryl’s School of Cooking. Her cooking school allows her to impart her extensive knowledge, while sharing in her clients’ sense of achievement at what they have created.
